New: Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) group for Adults with Depression and/or Anxiety - Eight Week group - September 30 - November 18, 2017 - Saturdays 10:30 - 12:30 Just completed - New MBCT Group starting in January or February
This group is for adults with mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety or
who have suffered from more severe depression in the past.

What is Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy?
MBCT is a clinically researched therapy approach that teaches a different relationship with one's thoughts and feelings. It involves mindful awareness and self-compassion to reduce distress and increase well-being. To learn more about MBCT click here.
Who could benefit from MBCT Groups?
MBCT Groups are for adults, teens, and children who suffer emotional and physical distress related to anxiety and/or depression.
When are the sessions?
MBCT Group sessions are usually for eight weeks and the sessions are two hours long.
What is the cost?
The cost for the eight week program is $360. This may be partially covered by insurance, billed as group therapy. The cost for the individual pre-group session is $45 and may be covered by insurance. One individual session is required with Dr. Alvarado before starting the group. The cost for that session is $45.
MBCT Groups for Anxious Children:
These groups are for children ages nine through twelve with anxiety, may also include children with mild depression. Dates and times TBA
MBCT Groups for Teens:
These groups are for teens ages thirteen through fifteen or ages sixteen through eighteen who are stressed, anxious, or depressed. Dates and times TBA
